Weight Watchers Update....

....well, I don't know if you can truly call me a real "Weight Watcher" because I haven't
been to a meeting since October. (ya, I pretty much stopped going when the Holidays hit...starting with Halloween!)

Although, I wasn't attending meetings I continued to use things that I learned at Weight Watchers and mostly ate what I wanted, but attempted to watch my portions. (basically, I'm saying, I ate pie and other goodies during the Holidays, but just ate a little, rather than pigging out!)

I thought I was doomed to gain back the 30lbs. I had lost.

Well, I am happy to report that I weighed myself this morning and I have broken into the 230's.
239.2

A total of 33 pounds.

So, I have maintained my weight loss and now lost a little more....

I'm so happy.

diets....

Diets....well, they don't have the word "die" in them for nothin'!!!!

As you all know, I've been doing weight watchers. And I finally made my 10% goal, confirmed by my doctor at my check-up 2 weeks ago.

So, ya wanna know what's "killing" me? Well, quite frankly, it's the weighing and measuring (which I really don't mind......) but it's trying to do all that weighing and measuring and still cook somewhat normally for my family. kwim?

For instance, if I make spaghetti. First, I have to weigh "my" pasta portion. Then, after cooking the meat, I have to weigh out my 3oz. portion, before adding the sauce to the meat. (which of course, I have carefully already removed my 1/2cup portion of sauce.) Now, if I get distracted at all.....I have forgotten to remove my meat before adding the sauce and I'm screwed. See what I mean?

So.....it's "killing" me! The drama of it all. The extra steps. The remembering to do it before.... Pretty much all of it. I need to find ways to make my life easier, not harder. I found some crock pot recipes....I hope they help. I'll let you know.

Anybody have any suggestions for making this easier?!?!

As it stands right now, I suck at this diet these past 2 weeks. The only thing that saved me was food poisoning!!! (and that's sad!!!)

So, I'll be weighing in tomorrow. It will suck. I'm gonna pay w/ a weight gain, I'm sure. But, it might be enough to get me back on track. (or perhaps it was that unfortunate picture of my ass that I saw this week..........yikes! 30 lbs. lost helps, but seriously......)

Anybody have WW recipes they like??

Help me! Save me from myself!!!!

AND WHILE WE ARE AT IT.....

...if my WW leader heard me call this a diet, she'd probably die! After all, my leader says, "It's a LIFESTYLE CHANGE, not a DIET. And the other one she loves to say is, "you can't CHEAT on a LIFESTYLE CHANGE." Well, leader, I love you and all. Your 75+ pounds you lost last year really inspires me, but really, you can cheat....no matter what you call it!!!!!

Trust me, I know!!

Check it out.....these are my pants
that I can no longer wear, because they
literally FALL OFF as I walk...
And they aren't the only pair that are like that. If I can keep the weight off, I'll need all new clothes by Spring.

Amazing, isn't it?!?!

Celebrating......

10% Less of ME!!!!

I finally did it!

I made my 10% weight loss goal!!!!
(actually exceeded it by 2.6lbs!!)
WOO HOO!!!!
(so they gave me this killer key chain to mark the occasion!!)

I HAVE LOST 29.6lbs!!!
(yes...I lost 5.6lbs this week!!!!)

I've realized 3 diet related things today...

....sometimes the scale is your friend (or else it's gone nuts and isn't working...) I'm finally seeing a little bit of progress again even though I was stress eating like a crazy person. I ate, but only WW foods and tried to stay within my points while doing it. But, it wasn't like it was well-planned or anything.

....my windsuit shorts that used to be TIGHT are quite comfy and loose.

....I'm sitting outside on the sidewalk watching my kids and my butt hurts.... (less padding? -- although I still have a long way to go!)

I wanna make it clear...

I never intended to, nor do I plan to stop Weight Watchers.

I was only trying to say.....

....I am freaked out about the next goal.

I only had 1.4lbs to make my 10% goal.....
....but I'd be willing to bet that it's not going to happen this week.

Thanks for the encouraging words.

Sabotage.....

Have you ever committed sabotage against yourself?

You knew you were doing it, but you just couldn't help yourself?

You tried to stop, but it seems the more you try the more you do it?

For me, self-sabotage is a long running problem.

I begin to believe I will fail.

I lose faith in myself.

I get scared.

It's so sad really.

My latest self-sabatoge: Weight Watchers

(I know. I know. I know what you're thinking. You've been doing great.
And I have. And I've been thinking it to.)

But, from the moment I realized I am 1.4 lbs. away from meeting my 1st major goal....
....I have been bad. Not horribly bad. It could be worse.......
....but so far the bad has included ice cream (albeit sugar-free,) brownies and I followed that up with a healthy dose of chinese food, with the leftovers even eaten as breakfast this morning......

ACK!

It's just with the impending "meeting" of this goal......

.....there is the pressure of the next goal.

~what should the next goal be?
~what's a realistic next goal?
~what if it stops working and I start failing?
~will I dissapoint those cheering me on?
~will I dissapoint myself?

All I know is......I'm mad at myself and it's driving my crazy.

Weight Watchers Update....

I am disappointed to report that Saturday's weigh-in was less than exciting....

I gained 0.6 lbs.

Yep, it sucks. And yep, I deserved it. I'm surprised it was only that little of a gain.
Now I just have to try harder this week.

WEIGHT WATCHERS UPDATE......

See this?

This is how much weight I've lost in the past 7 weeks.

15 lbs. 15 pounds. FIFTEEN POUNDS!!!!

Somehow, I managed to lose another 2.4lbs over the past 2 weeks for a grand total of FIFTEEN POUNDS!!!!

(I did not weigh in while in Savannah, because I would have had to go at 7am on Saturday morning and it was a 30 minute drive one way to get there.....ummm, I was thinking no!)

So, this 2.4lbs is lost over 2 weeks.

So, Yay! Now, just keep on going!

Weigh In Saturday.....Quickie Update!!!!!

So, even though I didn't come rolling in from the re-union festivities until 2:45am.....I still got up and I was at Weight Watchers for my weigh-in at 8:30am.

And I am super glad I went because I lost.....

drumroll, please....

another 4.2lbs this week!!!! Woo Hoo!

So, for those keeping track, I am down 10.6lbs in
3 WEEKS!!!!!

(and on a funny side note...the girl that weighed me in, took one look at me and said, "I know I know you!" Turns out it was one of my Delta Zeta sorority sisters from like 17 years ago!!! SMALL WORLD!!!)

Well, I will update tomorrow....I'm off to shower....shave my legs and get ready for tonight!!! Plus, now I takes me 20x as long to get ready because....I cut all my hair off and I have super bad hairdrying skills. Hairdryers and I....well, it's not a good relationship.

But, I am sure glad you got me a new one Sherry...because I need it now!!!

Self-Portrait Wednesday??

This is a Public Service Announcement:

If you see this girl, she may be Armed (with something sugary) and Dangerous (she started her period today!)

(I know, I know, TMI....but after the poop post...
I'm not sure that anything is more TMI than that!!!)

Do not be mislead by the broad smile and sweet looking disposition. This woman is a menace to society,
NO she's a MENACE TO HERSELF!!!

If you see her....please call
1-800-STOP HER
(yes, please....save me from myself!)

It's true, kids. Wake the neighbors! Alert the Media!
I am officially out of control!!!

So, it started out innocently enough, as most things do, but now I can't stop. So, here's the backstory.....

My insurance company is trying to deny that they need to pay for the diabetes classes and the nutritionist my doctor is trying to send me to. (Why do they always pull this crap?) So, when I found this out, I called my doctor and explained what I had heard. You see, the insurance is complaining that my diagnosis is unsubstantiated because I don't have enough blood test results to prove I am diabetic.

NOTE TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY:
Ok, now seriously you insurance people, do you really think I am trying to trick you into believing that I am a diabetic? Seriously? SER...I...OUS...LY?!?!

I mean, come on, who really wakes up one day and says, gee...I think I haven't had a good disease lately, so I think I'll try to get diabetes today. (Ok, ok....I know some people have that Munchausen's by Proxy thing.....but I DON'T HAVE THAT....
I HAVE DIABETES!!!!!!!!)

Get real people. I don't want this. I don't want to deal with it. I don't want to worry that this diabetes could kill me. I don't want any of it. But the fact is...it here. I have it. And I need these damn classes. And I think you, my insurance company should have to pay for it. Isn't that what we pay for?! If not, what are we paying for?! And now that I am sick...it's all....we don't want to pay for your classes....talk about unfair!!!

So, dear insurance company.....YOU SUCK!!!!!

Ok, so anyway....when I call and talk to my doctor's nurse about this, she talks to him and he says, "Well, we can make sure you get the numbers you need. I want you to go on Monday, eat whatever you want for lunch, drink Coke and have dessert. Then, come let us test your blood....." OMGosh....he cracked me up!!!!
And I was looking forward to my "freebie" day....even if it did throw a little kink into my Weight Watchers thing!!

So, Monday comes and I go have my "prescribed" lunch. I go and the nurse pricks my finger (ouch!) and gets the number. She goes to check w/ the doctor, who is not around yet from lunch, so she sends me on my way. Then, about 3 hours later, she calls and tells me that they made a mistake and it was supposed to be a veinous draw. SO I HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!

Now, I know you're thinking....Yay! Do it again! Yum!
Well, normally, I'd be that way, too. But.....I am supposed to be on Weight Watchers. And I am doing well....so this REALLY screws things up!!!!

So, I did a repeat of the "prescription" for lunch Tuesday. And this time, got the right blood test. So, I'll get the results next week.

But, since I started today (a few days early, I might add).....well, it's pretty much, GAME ON!!!!!

Yep, I had a fat, juicy burger for dinner and chased that sucker down with a hot fudge sundae!!!!!!!
(How's that for a confession from the FUGITIVE?!)

And now, instead of kicking a$$ like I should be at my weigh-in on Saturday....it will suck!

I'm seriously gonna try to do better tomorrow....let's hope I have better luck than today!!!!

So...Guess Who??......

Lost 4.6 lbs last week?

Yep...it was ME!!!

(And then I did 20 minutes of pool jumping jacks. After 5 minutes my legs hurt, but I powered on thru it. After 20 minutes, I was exhausted.)

And now I can't walk. Can you say sore?

What a Marvelous day!

"o'er the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE!"

-------------------------------------------

Happy 4th of July Memories!!

We started the day being LA-Zee! We just took it easy for the morning and after lunch, we mozied on out to the pool!

I snapped this picture o
f myself before getting wet, because I figured it would be the only one I would end up being in!

The neighbors came over and jumpe
d in the pool, too! Everything was going GREAT, until Ike looked over and noticed the big "wall" cloud coming over the horizon. Amazingly, within like 20 minutes....the cloud grew, our beautiful sunny day changed and the city tornado sirens were going off. Everyone jumped out of the pool and ran it as fast as we could! Can you believe that?!

Sure enough a tornado touched dow
n about 15 miles from our house. And even more scary, there was a tornado that formed (and Ike's station got it on camera) about 5 blocks from our house! (it did not reach the ground...the funnel formed and then went back into the sky.)

Then, it rained off and on for the
next 3 hours or so! Talk about a damper on the day!!!!

When the rain began clearing around 5:30....we started getting all the stuff over to the neighbors for our cookout!

<-------- This is Cary....he's excited about this firework!

I had to get a pic of it when I saw the missles said....

TNT!!!!

Hilarious!!!!

Of course, this is Big Daddy.....with one of his 9 million bricks of firecrackers he loves so much!! (Why does this holiday make grown men act like a bunch of children?????)

----->
Too many of these...

<----- Make the princess do this! Poor baby hated it!

I failed to get a pic of the food spread Kelly and I put out, but I can tell you it was good! (and I behaved myself, until this----->)

This concoction is Kelly's homemade ice cream which is FANTASTIC!!!! It's seriously delicious!!!! So, anyway, during the cookout, I measured everything and brought my own "lowfat" chips and my own whole wheat b
un for my turkey burger that Kelly measured out for me. I did realllly well.
But then, I had the 1/2 cup of 7-points worth of homemade ice cream with the "measured" 1-point worth of fresh strawberries and blueberries. But, ultimately, I could not resist. And eventually, I had a second 1/2 cup of Kelly's fabulous ice cream. (this time without any delicious berries!)

THANK GOD FOR FLEX POINTS~

I really enjoyed watching the children play and enjoy the day!

This is me and my friend Kelly....she's fabulous! I'm really glad she's my neighbor and I'm even more glad she's my friend!!!

------>
Logan.....dancing around in
"smoke bomb" smoke!

<---- Happy Birthday, America!!! From an American Princess!!!

------->
Look at this American guy and the beautiful sky in the background....eventually, the sun did come back out and then we were treated to these fantastic colors as the sun went down!

<----- A true American CUTIE!!

And finally, the fireworks.....turns out I have no idea how to take pics w/ my new camera of fireworks.....

So, this was all experimentation....coulda been better, but could been much, much worse!!!

Hope your day was *fantastic*!!!!

Hi, My name is Roxann.....

...and I'm a Weight Watcher.

Geez, where do I start? So, I get up this morning to pouring rain. Good thing I am supposed to meet Kathy (the GM at Ike's station) at the WW meeting, otherwise at 7:45am in the pouring rain, I might have found myself....OK, definitely would have found myself snuggling right back up to Big Daddy and skipping the meeting! But, I put my feet on the floor and began my day.

As I left for the meeting, feeling like a girl about to throw herself into a volcano as a sacrifice (I know, I know, but I'm a drama queen....) I was nervous. Very nervous. My stomach was torn up....(ah, and now I see how it works, the thought of getting weighed by a stranger that is not a medical professional freaks you out so bad, you don't want to eat...)

So, I get there and find I have to park 4 rows over (hmm..... apparently I'm not the only one with a weight issue) and I run thru the pouring rain. Kathy is at the door, waiting on me and waving. Boy, it sure is easier with a friend.

We go in, where the WW welcome lady, deluges me with information and asks me which plan I want to pay for. Of course, I knew it would cost money...but I was in no way prepared for the amount of things they would sell, that I would need. So, I began making the mental list.... ($20 join fee...$12.00 weekly meeting fee....$??? books....$??? food.... yikes!!!) I started stressing out and I really wanted to make a break for it! Again, thank goodness, Kathy was there.

So, because I am still not sure I want to go to meetings every week....I am thinking of joining online....so I ask about the "free" try a meeting deal listed on the internet. Quite frankly, the lady seems irritated with me. She finally admits we can sit thru the meeting and join after. (good choice sister, because that's what I was doing...with or without you!)

The leader was a cutie who lost 75lbs in 2006 and has kept it off! She motivated us with her "Happy THIndependence Day!" speech, complete with a cute pledge re-written to motivate us to make good food choices at our celebrations this week!
And, she did motivate me. Just by her tag proclaiming she lost 75 lbs in 2006. (maybe there is hope for me, yet...)

So, after the meeting, we need to join. (Kathy wants to do weigh-ins, so I will do it with her, instead of on-line.) We need to pay for meetings. We need books. We need resources. So...$192 later...I am joined for 14 weeks (well, 13 more after today.) And, I have all the books I need to calculate points at the grocery store, the restaurants and a little slide calculator for doing it while reading food labels.

I think I'm ready to do it.....

So...in the interest of being honest...I have to decide whether or not to share with you my weight. I mean, this is ~the Real Roxann~ right? I mean, it's just a number. What does it really mean? You all love me, no matter what that number is, right?! You support me...you don't judge...right?!

Ok...here it goes. Why is this so hard to admit, it's not like you all don't know I am big. Ok...try again. My weigh in was 272. Gosh....272. I really need to do this....and I need your support. It could save my life.

So, my first weight goal is 10%. 27 pounds. Wow. That's a lot. 27 pounds. I can't even think of something that is 27 pounds. But...that's what I have to lose to start with.

Long term....I should probably lose 150 (my best guess,) but lets see how this goes before we start talking about losing enough weight to equal another whole person.

And now, I want to say to Big Daddy... thank you for your support. Thank you for not rolling your eyes as I calculate points, even if you think I am nuts! Thank you for supporting me, by doing it to. You are really willing to give up sugar, just because I have to? Now...that's love. Thank you for always accepting me, no matter if I am 272 or 125. Thank you for loving me and telling me I am beautiful. You will never know how much this means to me...really.... I love you.

And to you, my loving friends, thank you for your kind words of support. Although, you guys think I am strong, I am not. I am weak and I am scared to death. Most of all, I'm afraid I will fail and disappoint you. But, thank you for your belief in me. And thank you for listening. But, most of all, thank you for choosing me as your friend and accepting me, just like I am. I really love you guys!
