So....Big Daddy seriously *rocks*!!!!!

This may look like an ordinary angel. But, it's not.
Big Daddy brought her home to me, in memory of my mother.
You see, my mother collected angels. Lots and lots of angels.
So, this being the 10th year that my mom has been gone, I have made a special angel Christmas tree and the only ornaments on it, are the angel ornaments that I've purchased in her memory. One per each year. It's beautiful....and pics of that to come soon.

Anyway, with all the sickies around here....Big Daddy had gone to the store and come home with her. Now, I know she looks kinda boring, but she's not. She really is beautiful. And then she has a light inside her that changes colors, sending light thru the prisms all over her and reflecting onto the ceiling and the walls. It is so beautiful.

So, he comes home w/ chicken noodle soup, 7-up, Saltine crackers, toilet paper, Tide and this angel. I was downstairs in the laundry room. (where else would I be?!?! ha ha!) Well, he set her up and turned her on. Then, he called me upstairs. He said, "I saw her and thought you'd like her and she'd remind you of your mom."

I couldn't even speak, I just had massive tears. And once I started, I couldn't stop.

But, this angel actually does have a deeper meaning to me. When my mother "knew" she was dying, she would tell me about these "dream" she would have. (Read my mother's story here and read about the diamond dress....but get a box of kleenex, because it's a tearjerker.) Because I believe my mother was seeing heaven and described to me her diamond dress. And this is exactly the type of dress I pictured when she told me the story.
This gift means so much to me.....

I told Big Daddy that this was probably one of my most favorite gifts he has ever given me.
And I mean it.

Have I ever told you my story about.......

.....my underwear?

Well, when we lived in Oklahoma, I was forever running up and down the stairs with baskets of laundry because my washer/dryer were downstairs, but the boys' rooms were upstairs.

So, one day I was going up the stairs with a basket of laundry. And I had taken my bathrobe off to put in the washer, so I was just in my underwear and bra. Well, as I started up the stairs, Big Daddy came up directly behind me, so he was about 3 stairs below me, so his face was right at my hiney.

Well, out of the silence, I hear Big Daddy exclaim, "Good Grief, WOMAN?!?! HOW MUCH DID THIS MONOGRAMMED UNDERWEAR COST ME?!?!?!?!"

WHAT?!?!?!?!

I seriously thought the man was off his rocker.

I replied, "What in the world are you talking about?!?!"

He said, "That underwear you have on is monogrammed!"

"No, it's not. It's like a million years old and I got it at Lane Bryant. It's just regular old underwear!!" I responded. (Now, I suppose if I had told him it was $16 a pair, he probably would have freaked....so I skipped that detail.)

He said, "Look, it's monogrammed, right there!" (as he put his finger on my waistband.....)

So, I look and sure enough.....it says RW (my initials) all the way around the waistband of the underwear.
In all the years and with all 10 or so pairs of this underwear I own, I never even realized this detail. I just wear it and that's it.

And with a little bit of thought, I remember that their intimates line used to be known as "real women" OR
in my case.....Roxann Wxxxxx!!!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!

We have had several good laughs about this story!!!!

I'm BACK.....

Got the kids...they had a great time! The big boys *loved* church camp! They had a blast and they say they want to go back next year.....

Once I finally left, I decided to stay a few days. We had a really nice visit! Now G-ma and G-pa have to use this week to recover!!! I had planned to come home on Wednesday, but Ike had a late meeting scheduled, so we weren't in a hurry.

(TMI alert for coming passages.....but I just tell you like it is.....)

Until....Ike called at about 1:30pm with a scared voice. He was passing blood in his urine and he was freaked out! For once, I was pretending to be "the calm one" and I urged him not to worry, it was probably a urinary tract or bladder or kidney infection. But, he was still freaking... and actually, so was I. (of course, I didn't tell him that I was freaking.....I just calmly told him how to look up what Minor Emergency Center he could go to and gave him the insurance information he needed.) Poor guy had a fever and felt raunchy to boot! (and I wasn't here to be with him....)

So, I quickly got upgraded to "we are in a hurry to get home" status. My step mom started shoving the kids things in bags and I was dragging stuff to the front door. My dad and the kids started carrying it out, while I met them outside to carefully cram everything in the van. It's a jumbled up mess at this point!!! But, we got out of there pretty quick....

Before we could even leave town, I had to get gas. And I had to use the facilities, because my stomach was so messed up! (Don't you hate it when you get so worried that your bowels betray you?) Thank God I had to drive across Tulsa before leaving town and they sold 7-up!

Anyways, we came blazing home (to the tune of 4 hours) and found Big Daddy laid up in bed. He has a horrid UTI and that's so weird, because men rarely get them. But, the dr. says his is BAD! Poor Guy!!! And as an added bonus they gave him a prostate exam. Can you imagine, that would be bad enough, but to have to have one when you feel like dookie....not cool! I felt real sorry for him and boy was he glad we were home.

Luckily, the doc gave him the nuclear bomb anti-biotic and he was already feeling a tiny bit better.

I put the 2 littles to bed at 8pm and the 2 bigs to bed at 8:30pm and Big Daddy and I were in bed by 9pm. We were all exhausted! Gosh, we are OLD!!!

So....how was your weekend?!?!

Happy Father's Day, Big Daddy!!

See this guy.....he's probably the best daddy you can find out there!!!! We are so lucky to have him!!!
He changes diapers. (yep, even poopies)
He bathes children.
He wipes bottoms and noses.
He plays in the floor with them.
He wrestles with them.
He tries to teach them lessons.
He reads books to them.
He plays PS2 with them.
He helps them build things.
He hugs and kisses them.
He builds them a swingset.
He tells them he loves them.
He prints pictures of each of them and puts them on the wall in his office, so he can see them while he's at work.
He works hard to provide a good living.
He loves their momma.

All in all...he's a pretty great daddy!

Happy Fathers Day, Daddy!!!!
We love you so very much!!!!

**snoozer** post...aka my boring life....

I hate boring weekends.....

Quick recap.....

Friday night - the furniture store delivered the boys new bunkbed and it took 2 guys, 3 hours to put it together, from 4:30 to 7:30pm.

Ike went to a work dinner thing. He was supposed to get in and out of there....that didn't happen. He got home at 11pm. No break for me.

Saturday, in an effort to avoid unpacking, we had the brilliant idea to open the can of worms otherwise known as, since Jamie has an adorable puppy, so let's go look at adorable puppies to see what we can find. Now everyone is whining, "Mom, can we get a puppy?" Yeah, like that's what we really need right now!! (side note: Marinne flipped out in the pet store. Screaming and running from puppy cage to puppy cage. She saw a little dog that looked like Gma and Gpa's "Tucker" and she started screaming, "Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker......")

Saturday night, out of guilt for blowing off the work during the day, I unpacked boxes. Have I mentioned I'm so tired of unpacking boxes?!?!

And it snowed again! We went to Walmart to get a few things and when we came out, the van was covered with snow! Crazy weather!!! But....still loving it!!!!!!!! I want a blizzard!!!

Sunday, Ike worked on the garage some. I somehow became domesticated and made cinnamon apple pancakes for breakfast and homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. (lunch was hot dogs and chips) I think I may have been inspired by Stacy A's blog post about this.... Doesn't that sound good.....a far cry from my boring homemade food I made, but it inspired me none-the-less.

And I unpacked a ton of junk in the boys room! Why does it all take soooo much time?????

Anyways.....last night Big Daddy was super grumpy and then I found out why......after moaning and groaning and chilling all night long (which kept me awake, of course) .....he has the stinkin' intestinal virus that I had 1 1/2 weeks ago. Trust me, this one sucks. He'll be miserable at least today and tomorrow.

Hopefully, no one else will get it!!!!!!!!!!! If they do, you'll hear me whine about that!!!!!!
