**UPDATE**

Hey everyone! I just wanted to jump on real quick and let you know I am just fine. Surgery was successful, although I did have a slight problem in recovery.

(My heart rate dropped to 42 and they couldn't get it to rise.)

and

I've had some pretty wicked cramping, although I am feeling much better today.

All and all....it wasn't that bad.

I have some pics I want to share....but they are on Big Daddy's camera phone.

So...look for the full story soon.

Interesting photo....

When I went to take my dog out this morning, I was surprised to see the moon. The sun was up (as you can see it shining on my neighbors house) and just above the trees was the biggest, brightest FULL MOON!

It was very beautiful and peaceful.

It's cold this morning...49 degrees. But, it's forecasted to be 79 degrees by this afternoon. To be honest, I hate this particular time of year. Why? Because you have to dress for cold in the morning and hot for the afternoon, which warrants both sets of clothing to be out for each child! I cannot keep up with the laundry, nor do I have the bedroom storage for everything to be out at once! And, it drives me CRAZY!!!!!

Anyway....it's shaping up to be a busy one. I have *super fun* scrapbooking projects to finish up for The Paper Mill Store.com and get sent in. So, be looking for those very soon on the blog.

I have a lunch date with a new friend today. Exciting, but I am nervous, too. This girl's hubby works for Big Daddy and she's currently on maternity on leave. So, we decided to do lunch. The funny thing is...why am I nervous? Well, because I want her to like me, of course. But, my husband is her husband's boss....so shouldn't she be nervous?! (now that I think about it, I bet she's nervous, too.) Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to it. As I've mentioned before...I am very lonely here. (although, I love it here!)

Then, there's tomorrow. Tomorrow, I am having some female surgery. NOT looking forward to that at all. Because I. AM. TERRIFIED. IV's. Anesthesia. Possible complications. Side effects of all of the above.

I wish I didn't have to do it.

So, say a prayer for me. (and Big Daddy, too. After all, he's gonna have to deal with his anxiety-ridden freak of a wife tomorrow --and probably tonight-- while I am dreading having to do this)

I might be missing in action for a few days....but, I'll try to check in to let you know I'm fine.

xo~

So, guess where I went today?!?!

...that's right, I went to the doctor again.

Why, You ask?

I AM SICK AGAIN! (or is it still?!)

I started feeling bad again 2 days ago. Then, 2 nights ago, I came down with a wicked cough. It feels like someone is sitting on my chest and kicking me in the chest when I cough. It's stinks so bad!!

So, after 2 nights of little to no sleep, I decided to go back in to the doctor's office to see what's wrong with me now. And the verdict is...I have Bronchitis and some sinus infection.

SO, I was sent home with an inhaler, my second antibiotic in a month and some major decongestant/cough medicine stuff. ACK!!!!!!
I am so, so tired of all of this! It really does suck!!!!!

So, it's Friday and I'll be spending my weekend trying to get better.

And if I can feel a bit better, I hope to get some scrappin' done. I had some cool valentines stuff started, but I only got it partly done because of being sick. (my time to work is late at night after the kids are in bed, but when I am sick, I can't stay up to do anything. I just have NO energy!!

So, now I have to start my Design Team projects over for the month! Doggone it! So, I hope to get a bunch done this week!!

What are YOU doing this weekend?!?!

I'm sick....

Well, I feel like a pre-schooler, because I'm going to the doctor because my ear hurts. I've felt like doodie for about 5 days and my ears have hurt for 3 of them. It's just getting worse. So, I'm breaking down and going to the doctor. It's freezing cold and it's supposed to snow starting around lunchtime. 2-4 inches they say. I have to take the 2 littles with me.
Yep, I'm tired (not sleeping well) and cranky.

Hope everyone is feeling much better than me!

(Look for some new projects from me soon.
I have 4 done on my desk I hope to upload later today!!)

MAKING UP for lost TIME.......

Well, I woke up today to COLD!!!! 37 DEGREES when I was getting the boys ready for school!! Actually, I came into town only to find it to be cold yesterday, but I've basically been in bed since I got home on Sunday. So, that didn't really effect me much since I was huddled under the covers in my bed!!!!

So, it's officially Fall (or is it Winter?!?!) in Topeka!!!
(Although, it was like almost 80 degrees in Kansas City on Saturday!!!)

Check out my weather forecast:

Humidity: 68%

Today

Hi, My name is Roxann.....

...and I'm a Weight Watcher.

Geez, where do I start? So, I get up this morning to pouring rain. Good thing I am supposed to meet Kathy (the GM at Ike's station) at the WW meeting, otherwise at 7:45am in the pouring rain, I might have found myself....OK, definitely would have found myself snuggling right back up to Big Daddy and skipping the meeting! But, I put my feet on the floor and began my day.

As I left for the meeting, feeling like a girl about to throw herself into a volcano as a sacrifice (I know, I know, but I'm a drama queen....) I was nervous. Very nervous. My stomach was torn up....(ah, and now I see how it works, the thought of getting weighed by a stranger that is not a medical professional freaks you out so bad, you don't want to eat...)

So, I get there and find I have to park 4 rows over (hmm..... apparently I'm not the only one with a weight issue) and I run thru the pouring rain. Kathy is at the door, waiting on me and waving. Boy, it sure is easier with a friend.

We go in, where the WW welcome lady, deluges me with information and asks me which plan I want to pay for. Of course, I knew it would cost money...but I was in no way prepared for the amount of things they would sell, that I would need. So, I began making the mental list.... ($20 join fee...$12.00 weekly meeting fee....$??? books....$??? food.... yikes!!!) I started stressing out and I really wanted to make a break for it! Again, thank goodness, Kathy was there.

So, because I am still not sure I want to go to meetings every week....I am thinking of joining online....so I ask about the "free" try a meeting deal listed on the internet. Quite frankly, the lady seems irritated with me. She finally admits we can sit thru the meeting and join after. (good choice sister, because that's what I was doing...with or without you!)

The leader was a cutie who lost 75lbs in 2006 and has kept it off! She motivated us with her "Happy THIndependence Day!" speech, complete with a cute pledge re-written to motivate us to make good food choices at our celebrations this week!
And, she did motivate me. Just by her tag proclaiming she lost 75 lbs in 2006. (maybe there is hope for me, yet...)

So, after the meeting, we need to join. (Kathy wants to do weigh-ins, so I will do it with her, instead of on-line.) We need to pay for meetings. We need books. We need resources. So...$192 later...I am joined for 14 weeks (well, 13 more after today.) And, I have all the books I need to calculate points at the grocery store, the restaurants and a little slide calculator for doing it while reading food labels.

I think I'm ready to do it.....

So...in the interest of being honest...I have to decide whether or not to share with you my weight. I mean, this is ~the Real Roxann~ right? I mean, it's just a number. What does it really mean? You all love me, no matter what that number is, right?! You support me...you don't judge...right?!

Ok...here it goes. Why is this so hard to admit, it's not like you all don't know I am big. Ok...try again. My weigh in was 272. Gosh....272. I really need to do this....and I need your support. It could save my life.

So, my first weight goal is 10%. 27 pounds. Wow. That's a lot. 27 pounds. I can't even think of something that is 27 pounds. But...that's what I have to lose to start with.

Long term....I should probably lose 150 (my best guess,) but lets see how this goes before we start talking about losing enough weight to equal another whole person.

And now, I want to say to Big Daddy... thank you for your support. Thank you for not rolling your eyes as I calculate points, even if you think I am nuts! Thank you for supporting me, by doing it to. You are really willing to give up sugar, just because I have to? Now...that's love. Thank you for always accepting me, no matter if I am 272 or 125. Thank you for loving me and telling me I am beautiful. You will never know how much this means to me...really.... I love you.

And to you, my loving friends, thank you for your kind words of support. Although, you guys think I am strong, I am not. I am weak and I am scared to death. Most of all, I'm afraid I will fail and disappoint you. But, thank you for your belief in me. And thank you for listening. But, most of all, thank you for choosing me as your friend and accepting me, just like I am. I really love you guys!

**snoozer** post...aka my boring life....

I hate boring weekends.....

Quick recap.....

Friday night - the furniture store delivered the boys new bunkbed and it took 2 guys, 3 hours to put it together, from 4:30 to 7:30pm.

Ike went to a work dinner thing. He was supposed to get in and out of there....that didn't happen. He got home at 11pm. No break for me.

Saturday, in an effort to avoid unpacking, we had the brilliant idea to open the can of worms otherwise known as, since Jamie has an adorable puppy, so let's go look at adorable puppies to see what we can find. Now everyone is whining, "Mom, can we get a puppy?" Yeah, like that's what we really need right now!! (side note: Marinne flipped out in the pet store. Screaming and running from puppy cage to puppy cage. She saw a little dog that looked like Gma and Gpa's "Tucker" and she started screaming, "Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker......")

Saturday night, out of guilt for blowing off the work during the day, I unpacked boxes. Have I mentioned I'm so tired of unpacking boxes?!?!

And it snowed again! We went to Walmart to get a few things and when we came out, the van was covered with snow! Crazy weather!!! But....still loving it!!!!!!!! I want a blizzard!!!

Sunday, Ike worked on the garage some. I somehow became domesticated and made cinnamon apple pancakes for breakfast and homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. (lunch was hot dogs and chips) I think I may have been inspired by Stacy A's blog post about this.... Doesn't that sound good.....a far cry from my boring homemade food I made, but it inspired me none-the-less.

And I unpacked a ton of junk in the boys room! Why does it all take soooo much time?????

Anyways.....last night Big Daddy was super grumpy and then I found out why......after moaning and groaning and chilling all night long (which kept me awake, of course) .....he has the stinkin' intestinal virus that I had 1 1/2 weeks ago. Trust me, this one sucks. He'll be miserable at least today and tomorrow.

Hopefully, no one else will get it!!!!!!!!!!! If they do, you'll hear me whine about that!!!!!!
