The *kindness* of others....

So....when I started this Weight Loss Journey.....

...it was hard. REALLY HARD.

Every time I turned around I was looking for support.
Lots of support.

Support I could get. Support I could give.

Well, during my search, I came across a delightful lady named Patter who lives in TX.

She's sweet. (super sweet!)
She's a phonomenal scrapbooker. (just look at her pages...)
She's a mother of triplet girls. (I am so in awe...)
She's a remarkable Christian woman. (truly "lives" it)

Patter was taking over this "Dealing Myself the Weight Loss Hand" challenge
(you know all the cute cards I've been designing based on the challenges?)
after the original leader turned up preggers!

So, as a motivating RAK....Patter did a drawing for chipboard for completing a certain challenge. Well, since only 2 of us did it and were in the drawing, she decided to "reward" us both. Doing 2 RAK's instead of 1. (I told you she was sweet?!?! )

Well, fast forward to today!!

I go to the mailbox and to my delight, my package from Patter is here!!!!!!!

WOO HOO!!!

So, I don't even make it back to the house before I have that baby 1/2 ripped open and

WOW!!!!!

YOU SHOULD SEE ALL THE YUMMY CHIPBOARD GOODNESS SHE SENT ME!
(and a handwritten note, too!!)

She is very generous, especially since she sent 2 of these packages out!!!!

LOOKIE WHAT I GOT:

Note to Patter:
I must know where that chipboard board book came from!!! I've never seen one exactly like it!! It's just like all the board books we have for my daughter.
I have a zillion ideas swirling around in my head about how to use it. I can actually make a "storybook" for my daughter, all about her!!! How awesome is that?!!? So, I am really in the mood to scrap now! And make something fabulous with all these yummy pieces she sent me!!!!

THANKS SO MUCH PATTER!!!!!
YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!

Scrapbooking Show-N-Tell

My Dealing Myself a Losing Hand
Challenge Cards

I have been working really hard to get caught up on these....

these are my latest creations!!

The 5th card prompt:
Create your card and show or tell what gift you will give yourself when you’ve reached your goal. And…..don’t just give yourself new clothes. You SHOULD get that regardless. Give yourself something REALLY special that will motivate you that much more!

The 6th card prompt:

Scrap one word to describe your journey and use a Monogram for it somewhere on your card. It doesn’t have to be a positive word….it can be HARD. Be honest….this is YOUR album. What you are doing isn’t easy but it’s worth it.

The 7th card prompt:
Use the theme of TIME somehow on your card. Anyway you want. For instance, Shanna used TIME to get Healthy. TIME to get into old clothes again. TIME to get my body back. TIME to improve my self-esteem. TIME for change.

(the clock is at 4:00 to symbolize my 4 children...
so I'll be alive to enjoy them!!)

The 8th card
prompt:
Create a card about the scale! Do you use it? Is it your friend or do you hate it? How do you feel about weighing yourself? I personally deny I am gaining weight if I don’t weigh myself. So, to keep myself on track, I weigh myself every Tuesday morning. It is what works best for me and my continued success.

My take on this.....

(anyone who takes this info and uses it against me is in BIG TROUBLE!!)

The 9th card prompt:
Your favorite healthy snack! Some of you are doing Weight Watchers, some are watching calories, and some are following other plans. On this card, you want to highlight a favorite snack or two that you can turn to when you are hungry, low on points, or want to avoid making a bad choice. Thanks for the fun challenge, Roxann! (yep, this one was my idea....)

The 10th card prompt:
What's your favorite comment that you've received about your weight loss?

(And a great big thank you to my online pals, who don't "see" me, but who follow my story and encourage me right along!!! You guys rock!!!!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last but not least.....
Here is the "new & improved"
(read: not ruined, completely re-done)
after the unfortunate incident....
Baby Meg's Baptism Frame....
Can you believe it took ELEVEN coats of acrylic paint to cover up the hunter green chalk ink fingerprints
on the back of it!!!! ELEVEN COATS OF PAINT!!!!
Dealing Myself the Weight Loss Hand....
So, I was cruising around the net and I found a challenge to make these cards. It's a "mini-album" when you are finished. Well, I rarely do mini-albums (I've only done one before.) I mainly don't do them because I am always so far behind with my regular scrapbooking that I don't have the time to do them. But, this seems very worthwhile to me. So, I am playing catch up and I'll probably add some pages of my own.
So, I decided to do it to help motivate me to keep going. Usually by this point in a "diet" I have long given up. I know that WW is helping keep me motivated, but this motivates me even more to keep going!
I am really enjoying making it. I started on Saturday night and this is how far I've gotten. I hope you enjoy it, too.....
Roxann's Weight Loss Journey....
So, I decided to make a cover page for my book and this is it. I love it!
(Hee Hee! I used a flower!! First time ever!)
Challenge 1 ~ Scrap the goal.
What do you want to accomplish?
Putting these goals down wasn't hard, I had them in my head already....
Challenge 2 ~ Theme: The Key to Success.
Leave it to me to take everything so literally....
Challenge 3 ~ Scrap a motivating quote.
Well, I had these DCWV products that I purchased at Archiver's when Sherry was visiting.
I had no idea what I was going to do with them, they just "spoke" to me. Of course, I had to have them! So,I decided to use them for this mini book and it turns out they were perfect for it!!! I used these two vellum quotes together, added some words and came up with my own LARGER quote.
Now, my quote speaks to me, too.
Challenge 4 ~ Scrap about your food or drink weakness. Journal how you plan to overcome it.
This one came to me very quickly...
